Bonus Time

It's week 6 and the boys' due date is approaching. They were scheduled to arrive on December 31. All the books I'd read on sleep training and parenting infants doesn't even apply to preemies! Every directive claims you can try this or that technique at X weeks POST due date. So we keep saying that our time with them now is totally a bonus, when they should have been in the womb but instead they're here with us. They're keeping us busy but also very happy. The fussy moments are much more sooth-able and they happy, awake moments are longer. Both boys hold their head up some of the time, each can pick up his head and turn it side to side when on their stomachs, and I noticed yesterday that both seem to be focusing longer on objects and faces, which makes it much easier to interact and entertain them.

Here are a couple of clips taken after a feeding in the evening of December 29:

Hi Jen and Levi,

What a wonderful family you all make. God has blessed you. Jen, remember to stand your ground! With all the "men" in your life, you will feel outnumbered many times over. I speak from experience...but life with men gives you a easy going view on life. Enjoy each moment and thanks for sharing your blog with me. Take care and HAPPY NEW YEAR, 2010!

Wow are they ever cute!! I must say that you guys make good babies..of course I'm a little biased! Also, responding to Karen's post: I grew up with Jen. She can definitely hold her own!!

I can't believe how big they look already. It still kills me that I won't get to see them until they are over 6 months old - probably sitting up and rolling over and such. Can't wait. But as for you enjoy every moment. My baby was 6 when you shot these clips. Love you and miss you.

Love, Trish
