Boys' Due Date - December 31

Today was the boys' due date! It really put into perspective for me just how early they came. This is why we call the past 5 1/2 weeks bonus time, and in certain situations when we aren't sure what to do (let them cry? hold them?) we just keep saying, "You aren't even born yet!" Thus, we choose the latter. ;) Guess now we actually have to start listening to the books since they're officially past their due date.

Today we took the boys to their pediatrician's office for a weight, height and head circumference check. I was astounded by how much they weigh!

Levi: 7 pounds, 15 ounces; 20.5 inches long; 14 1/2 inch head
Everett: 7 pounds, 14 ounces; 21 inches long; 14 inch head

Obviously they're still very similar in size. They're still underweight for their age, but next week when we actually meet with the doc she'll be able to tell us if they're gaining at the correct rate, which is the most important thing right now.

I just can't believe our babies are almost EIGHT pounds!

First time in their suits that Grammy and Papa Matteson bought for them (Levi, then Everett), and clip of us taking them in their first tandem car ride. They look like two stuffed animals strapped in the backseat. Mattesons are here for the week so Linda and I took the boys together. It's official, by the way: taking them anywhere by myself would be very difficult. Shocker, right?
