Gas and Other Items

The boys are much more aware now and on the brink of smiling. The doctor gave us the OK to have the sleep longer stretches at night, although I don't think the boys got that memo. Actually they've slept a couple of 5 hour stretches, but typically 4 hours for their first nap of the night. We certainly aren't complaining! Everett is the more solid sleeper, although both of them awake often with gas. I literally hear them passing gas when they wake up crying. Loving gas drops, gripe water and "gas expelling" massages for them.

This one's for you, Aunt Betsy. It's after their bath. Can't you just smell their babyness? You can see that Levi (left) is thicker than Everett.

We're working hard to change this, but Levi tends to nap less than Everett. One morning I brought him downstairs while I did laundry, putting him in a nearby laundry basket. When he got cranky I brought him up to the family room to sit in front of the fire, and when I returned a few minutes later I was pleasantly surprised. He slept like this for more than an hour! Guess we know how to get him to nap.

I would MUCH rather be able to smell the boys after their bath, instead of during their gassy moments--I did have enough of those odiferous moments to last me a lifetime!! How adorable Levi and Everett are, and growing very nicely. Bet you had fun last week with Grandma and Grandpa Hobin there! Hugs and kisses to all of you.
Love, Betsy

All that work tuckered him out!
