20: The Week

Well, this was a big week. We'd been seeing Everett's reflux get worse and worse and we knew we had to do something about it. We just kept convincing ourselves that he was just tired or fussy, but when he started routinely screaming when going to bed every night (AFTER 30 minutes of sitting up to improve digestion), we knew something had to be done. He would be on the edge of loosing it for up to 2 hours, and it was just my holding and soothing him that kept him from jumping.

Our doctor had recommended Nutramigen (broken down formula) weeks ago and we finally decided to give it a try. We saw improvements the very next day! All of a sudden this little person erupted out of little Ev--he was talking nonstop and laughing and smiling. We were thrilled with the choice, even if it is ridiculously expensive and also--we're not sure if there's a connection--the day after we started him on this new formula he stopped sleeping through until 6am, and became our 3:30 or 4am baby. Oh well, you take the good with the bad.

My friend Trisha also came to visit us for a night. Her and her husband were in Madison, WI for the weekend and she decided to drive the extra 5 hours and make a whirlwind stop here in Minneapolis. I've been loving her kids for many years, so it was wonderful to be able to share mine with her!

We had a great time catching up and Levi made us some really delicious meals. I have the best husband.

The boys love this musical toy. Levi is desperately trying to find that lady he sees in the mirror.

Did I mention they can read now?

No naked pics this week. I'm sure the boys were bathed at some point, but it's all a blur just days later. It was just that type of week.

Snapshot: As predicted, the boys have been eating less ounces during their feedings. They take more like 5 or 6, though we still offer 7. Also, so much for weaning Levi from his 4am feeding. In fact, now both boys are up at about that time. They are also grabbing at and holding toys like crazy, which is making things very fun. I've also suspected they're teething, particularly Levi who drools like crazy and seems to like the teething ring. Unfortunately he doesn't hold it himself, but of course he will eventually. They instantly laugh and giggle when I sing to them. Everett hangs out on his side a lot but has yet to roll over. We practice constantly but we're still waiting for the moment. Levi's too busy watching Everett to get on board with the whole rolling thing.
