Week 47 - October 10 - 16

On Monday I took the boys in for their ear re-checks. As I suspected, Everett was fine and Levi was still infected. He'd been fussy all weekend and really grabbing at his ears. She prescribed a heavier antibiotic and said to give him Tylenol and Ibuprofen alternately to help with the pain. Even just a day later he seemed back to his snuggly self.

I feel like the boys, Everett in particular, have really changed this week. Everett is such a physical child, which we've known since the womb, but his physicality now seems to have a target: his brother. He loves to tackle him and play around on the floor, and it's not necessarily aggressive but definitely can get that way. The boys have also become even more competitive and spend a fair amount of their play time pulling toys out of each others' hands, provoking cries. So often they play together wonderfully and seem to speak their own little language, but like any siblings, they have already developed some rivalry.

On Thursday Sandra came to hang out with the boys and me and we saw Everett take a half-step between us. On Saturday he did the same thing when cruising from the end table to the couch, and Levi saw it this time. I don't know if I'd call it his first steps, but we're certainly on the lookout! At the same time Levi has been letting go of his support items and standing unassisted for longer periods of time. It's so much fun seeing them change and grow.

Their new favorite toy is the recliner:
